A choice of recruitment solutions
We spoke to a lot of researchers to find out what they want from recruitment. Whilst the core answer is pretty consistent – 'clean', respondents who are recruited precisely on spec – there is far less consistency about the best way to find them.
With this in mind, we offer two different solutions to the recruitment dilemma.
Traditional recruiters
Many researchers believe that only the traditional methods and instincts of the experienced recruiter can deliver the respondents they want. If this is you, and you already have a recruiter in The Talking Shop areas whom you trust, then you already have the ideal recruitment solution should you want to use one of our studios.
If you don’t know any recruiters in the area, but still prefer to go down this route, then we have good relationships with a number of recruiters who have been recommended to us by our clients. We can either organise the whole recruitment process for you, or can simply put you in touch with a local recruiter so that you can sort it out directly – it's entirely up to you.
An alternative solution – The Real List
Since setting up The Talking Shop it has become clear that not everyone is happy with the traditional approach for a number of reasons. That's where The Real List comes in.
The Real List is a fast-growing database of willing but largely inexperienced members of the public. It is not bought in, we recruit everyone ourselves, using a variety of methods, which means it has a number of advantages:
- Clean: geographically it is centred on fresh areas that have been under-researched. This means we are not competing with hordes of other recruiters for respondents.
- Accurate: we recruit from a database of people who have all agreed that they are willing to take part in research. However, as they don't know what type of research they will be invited to participate in and we control the screening process in-house, we can ensure that all the recruitment criteria are adhered to accurately.
- Fresh: we are constantly adding to the database and it is growing at an amazing rate. This means we always have a supply of fresh respondents. In addition, we limit attendance, no-one is allowed to take part in a group discussion or depth interview more than three times a year.
- Wide-ranging: because of our central location we are able to pull people in from all corners of Greater Manchester and beyond into Cheshire and Lancashire. Also, we make the most of being in the city centre by making sure we recruit people who live, work, socialize and shop in the city centre.
- Transparent: obviously, problems do sometimes occur, and if we encounter an unexpected recruitment difficulty we will phone you and discuss the sample.
