Three gorgeous research studios in the heart of Manchester city centre
The Talking Shop is perfectly situated just a five minute stroll from shops like Harvey Nichols and Marks & Spencer as well as the bars, offices an restaurants around Deansgate.
Once a quiet backwater, we are in what has become a thriving area, surrounded by an eclectic mix of businesses (ranging from the massive tax office to the bespoke tailor on the other side of the road from us); hotels (the 5-star Lowry Hotel is two-minutes walk away); and high quality residential developments such as The Edge.
When you reach The Talking Shop you will find spacious rooms, high ceilings, tall windows. Calm uncluttered spaces that provide a perfect working environment.

The viewing studios
We have three research studios, all of which feature stylish, comfortable furniture, air-conditioning and all the latest AV kit including pan-tilt-zoom cameras and recording to DVD, VHS and audio tape.
We also offer wireless internet access, web-streaming and Mediacam software for internet depth interviews. Digital footage is available within 24 hours if required. Click on technology for more information.
Studio 1
Studio One is our largest studio, making it ideal for workshops as well as conventional group discussions.

Studio 2 is great for groups of up to ten respondents and offers a comfortable environment for up to eight clients.

Facilities
Food
It’s all in the details! The little things can have a disproportionate effect on how everyone feels about the research and most people feel better when they are well fed. For this reason we supply complimentary tea & coffee as well as nibbles including healthy snacks such as fruit (and less healthy treats like crisps, biscuits and chocolate).
If you want something more substantial we provide a wide range of options from simple sandwiches, hot or cold buffets or even a three course meal. We source our food from a very high quality local caterer and we also use a delivery service that can collect hot food from many of Manchester’s top restaurants.
Nor have we forgotten the moderator who is often busy when the food is served. As soon as they arrive we offer them a light meal such as a sandwich or some sushi – with our compliments.

Free internet access for moderators and clients
It can be difficult being away from the office, so we provide free, easy-to-access wireless internet so you can check up on all your messages.
Stationery supplies
The Talking Shop was set up and is run by experienced researchers and planners so we know how nice it is when you walk in and find there are plentiful supplies of pads and biros for your respondents and clients to use during the groups. So that’s what we do. If you need anything else just give us a ring and we’ll have it waiting for you when you arrive.
